This Diima Bensa Shantawene #4 Organic offered by Nordic Approach is a natural lot harvested in the Shantawene village of Bensa, Sidama, by the private exporter Tariku Kare, who received recognition from Africa Fine Coffee Association due to the amazing quality coffee they have provided over the years.
Diima means "red" in the Oromiffa language, and it indicates that you will find intensity, fruit candy, violet florals, and tropical fruit like mango & banana in your cup.
About the area
The Tariku Coffee Farms are located at high altitudes, ranging between 1900 and 2150 meters above sea level, which is a key factor to grow G1 coffee beans. Generally, coffees are grown at 1,900 - 2,200 masl and processed at 1900 - 2100 masl.
Coffee from these areas is commonly known as Sidama Coffee, and it offers distinct and unique cup profiles. Generally, coffees are sweet and balanced, with spicy/winey notes and the right acidity.
