About the producer / region:

The Vinhal family is the proud owner of Fazenda Recanto in Cerrado Mineiro. Now in its third generation of farmers, the family’s stake in coffee production started in the 1970s. Principally a father-son operation, son Rafael Vinhal has made himself a name for his bold experimentation and the unique flavours that are the result.

Minas Gerais, the general mines of Brazil, is home to Brazil’s best-quality coffees. In this southeastern state, Cerrado Mineiro sits atop a plateau and is the cream of the crop. A tropical savanna with a balanced mix of dry cool seasons and wet tropical climate.

Cerrado Mineiro’s quality is cemented – first certified with the title of Indication of Origin recognizes the region on a national level, and second is the Denomination of Origin, akin to the terrior of wines that recognizes the region for its special characteristics that cannot be found or properly replicated in other places.
